Member Handbuilding Workshop (June 16th-30th)

Tuesdays 6:30 PM-9PM; 6/16, 6/23, 6/30

Day 1: Pinch pots & kurinuki (traditional Japanese pottery technique of carving a block of clay instead of using coils to build up)

• Building Cups and Figurines for the Kiln Gods to protect your pieces

Day 2: Coil Building & Prepping Slabs for Day 3 Project

• Building Vases or Vessels using the following techniques: roll out clay for base/coils, score & slip, direction of clay, blending

Day 3: Slab building

• Build your own Tiny Home using the Slab roller/rolling pin to flatten clay, fettling knife/needle tool to cut slabs, and patience for pieces to become leather hard for attaching

All tools will be provided. Members may BYOC (Bring Your Own Clay!) As a member, you're welcome to use clay you've already purchased from us or purchase more if needed. For friends and family taking the class, clay must be purchased from us on Day 1 of the course.

Since you're already a member, underglazing and glazing is up to you at your own pace! Friends and Family have access to Open Studio time from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday - Saturday.
